Ukraine. First half of September remained hot

In the first half of September weather conditions were rather warm and dry for the given period. High average daily temperatures were close to or exceeded (in the West) July and August climatic norms. In some days maximum temperature increased to +29...+34°С. As of September, 10 sum of effective air temperatures exceeded the multiyear averages.

Productive precipitations were absent in the major part of the country. As a consequence of high temperatures and lack of rains, conditions for soil moisture accumulation were close to critical.

Particularly unfavorable conditions for soil moistening were noted in the winter rapeseed producing areas of Kherson region, where optimal sowing terms are coming to the end.
