Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported that in 2016 grain handling in Ukrainian seaports set a new record of 40.3 MMT, which was 7.6% more than in 2015. In future this record is expected to be broken. Experts estimate that until 2020 grain handling is likely to reach about 60 MMT per year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Ports of Yuzhnyi, Odessa, Nikolaev and Chernomorsk became the largest Ukrainian ports by grain handling in 2016. It should be noted that Chernomorsk port increased handling by 57% compared to the same period last year. "TIS", "Brooklyn-Kiev" located in the Port of Odessa, and "NIBULON" company located in Nikolayev port became the leading grain handling enterprises in 2016.

Vegetable oils handling

In 2016 handling of vegetable oils in Ukrainian seaports increased by 17.9% to 4.7 MMT compared to 3.9 MMT in 2015. In 2016 vegoils handling in ports exceeded the volume of 2014 and set an all-time record, UkrAgroConsult notes.

Nikolaev, Chernomorsk and Yuzhnyi were the largest Ukrainian ports in vegetable oils handling in 2016.

Compared to 2015, Nikolaev port almost doubled vegoil handling (+70%), while there were no significant changes in other ports.
