Ukraine. Grain stocks down in early MY 2017/18

According to the State Statistics Service, 6.77 MMT of cereals and pulses were available in Ukraine as of July 1, 2017, or 3.7% less than at the same time last year (7.03 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

As of the reporting date, wheat stocks were down 25.4% year-on-year at 2.25 MMT against 3.01 MMT as of July 1, 2016. Barley inventories fell by 8.5% against last year, to 1.23 MMT (1.51 MMT in July 2016). Their trend results from record 2016/17 exports of Ukrainian grain along with a delay in this year’s harvest.

Farmer and miller stocks of corn are up 33.9% year-on-year at 2.92 MMT against 2.18 MMT as of July 1, 2016.
