Ukraine. Handling of vegetable oils increased by 18% in 2017

According to Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, in 2017 seaports of Ukraine handled 40.6 MMT of grain, which was 0.6% more than during the same period last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In 2017 ports of Yuzhnyi, Odessa, Nikolayev and Chernomorsk became the largest ports for grain handling in Ukraine once again. It is worth noting that Azov ports remained afloat, despite construction of Kerch bridge, which affected restriction on dimensions for passage of vessels across the Kerch Strait.

Handling of vegetable oils in Ukrainian seaports increased 17.7% to 5.5 MMT in 2017, compared to 4.7 MMT over the same period last year. This indicator became a record one, while stable and rapid growth of vegetable oils processing shows prospects of this direction in the port industry of Ukraine.

In 2017 Nikolayev, Chernomorsk and Yuzhnyi ports remained the largest ports for vegoil handling in Ukraine.
