Ukraine. Harvesting of early grain crops is half-complete

17.07.2018

As of July 16, 2018, Ukrainian farmers had harvested early cereals and pulses from 50% of area against 22% in 2017. Late grain crops also develop ahead of the average pace, and their harvest may begin earlier than usual.

A year-on-year yield decrease is reported in almost all early cereals and pulses.

By the reporting date, it was the most significant in spring barley (on average by 25%) and peas (down 33%). It is worth pointing out that the current pea yield values in Ukraine are at least at a five-year low.
