Ukraine. Harvesting of early grains is over in seven regions

Grains. As of August 13, the harvest of early grains was already fully complete in Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Poltava and Zakarpattya regions.

 

Overall, Ukrainian farmers harvested early cereals and pulses from 9.5 Ml ha (96% of their forecast area) with a yield of 3.46 MT/ha. They got 33 MMT of new-crop grain, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Oil crops. According to the Ag Ministry of Ukraine, winter rapeseed had been harvested from 966.8 Th ha by August 13 (99% of its projected harvest area of 972.7 Th ha). The crop amounted to 2547.8 KMT with an average yield of 2.64 MT/ha. The latter is 5.4% lower than last year’s 2.79 MT/ha. As before, the harvest progress is far ahead of 2017. So, rapeseed was harvested from 734 Th ha a year ago, with its crop at 2048 KMT.

 

Spring rapeseed had been harvested from 29.2 Th ha that represents 44% of its projected area of 65.6 Th ha. Farmers brought in 60.9 KMT with a yield of 2.09 MT/ha. The harvest of spring rapeseed is 12% ahead of 2017, but yield fell this past week to a level 5% below last year.
