Ukraine. In September corn shipments hit seven-year low

In September 2016 corn shipments from Ukraine were minimal over the last seven years due to harvesting delay and exporters’ focus on wheat exports, informs UkrAgroConsult.

During the first month of season 2016/17 Ukraine supplied 56.7 KMT of corn to foreign markets, which was almost 63% less than in September 2015 – 150.3 KMT. Egypt was the largest importer of Ukrainian corn in September – 29.2 KMT or 51% of total shipments. The second half of corn was exported to EU countries – 27 KMT or 48%.

Nevertheless, as UkrAgroConsult has noted before, in October corn export has recovered. According to market operators, EU countries, Iran, Egypt, Israel and Tunisia remained the key importers of Ukrainian corn.
