01.02.2018

Ukraine exported some 2245 KMT of corn in December 2017, i.e. 15% less than in the same month in 2016 (2647 KMT).

In the first four months of the 2017/18 season, corn exports from Ukraine were down almost 30% year-on-year, reports UkrAgroConsult. Ukrainian exporters supplied 4447 KMT of corn to foreign markets in the reporting period against 6335 KMT at the same time in MY 2016/17.

This season, the top importer of Ukrainian corn is still the European Union, which absorbed almost half of corn exports during the reporting period.

Countries such as China, Israel and Turkey also import Ukrainian corn at a faster pace than last year. Turkey purchased 417 KMT of corn from Ukraine in September-December 2017/18, i.e. already 51% more than for the whole last marketing year (277 KMT was in MY 2016/17).
