Ukraine increased corn starch production by 38%


Corn starch production in Ukraine continues growing from month to month. Some 8.41 KMT of corn starch was produced in the country in October, or 17.4% more than at the same time last year. Ukrainian corn starch output in the first ten months of 2017 was up 37.7% year-on-year at 73.75 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Corn starch exports from Ukraine expand rapidly, too. Ukrainian exporters supplied more than 57.2 KMT of corn starch to foreign markets in the 2016/17 season, or almost twice as much as a year ago.

At the beginning of the current marketing year of 2017/18, the pace of corn starch exports remains roughly as fast as last season. Ukraine exported 7.7 KMT of corn starch during the first two months of MY 2017/18. Already traditionally the top importers were Indonesia, the European Union and Russia.
