Ukraine and Israel are interested in deepening bilateral economic cooperation and are working on signing the Free Trade Area (FTA) agreement by the end of this year.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu discussed this during a meeting, the Governmental portal reported.

"I am glad that the general trade in commodities has been growing over the past few months, we are working together to create a free trade area between the countries," the Head of the Ukrainian Government said, expressing hope that the relevant negotiations will be completed by the end of 2017.

Groysman also urged the Israeli side to consider the possibility of liberalization of access to the Israeli market of agricultural products, primarily grain, dairy products, fish, meat, honey, oil, vegetables and industrial products.

In turn, Benjamin Netanyahu noted that Israel was interested in the acceleration of negotiations to establish the FTA agreement with Ukraine. "We want to speed up the negotiations on the establishment of the Free Trade Area agreement, to develop commerce, trade, tourism, economic exchanges between our countries," he said.
