
Ukraine. January palm oil imports at a 2016/17 low
In January 2017, Ukraine imported the smallest monthly amount of palm oil since the beginning of 2016/17: 11.6 KMT against 20.1 KMT in December 2016 and 18 KMT in January 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult. Overall this season’s palm oil imports (September-January) still run higher than a year ago: 86.2 KMT against 79.4 KMT in September-January 2015/16 (up 8.6%).
Indonesia continues taking on the Ukrainian palm oil market this season. So, this country’s share in palm oil imports has expanded to 84.1%. Respectively, Malaysia’s market share has shrunk to 14.8%. Besides, Ukraine imports minor amounts of palm oil from Sweden, Russia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy.
Further prospects of the Black Sea oilseeds/vegoils market will be discussed at the V International Conference “Black Sea Oil Trade”, which will take place on September 19, 2017 in Hilton hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
