Ukraine. January’s mustard output offers hope for further recovery of production
The fat-and-oil industry welcomed the new year of 2017 with January’s mustard output at 0.591 KMT, or up almost 1% from the same month last year. Last month’s figure was lowered by 43%.
As a reminder, monthly mustard production in December 2016 hit a three-year high of over 1 KMT. In general, the previous year of 2016 featured a breaking point for mustard producers: the market narrowing trend of the recent few years was overcome.
UkrAgroConsult expects that 2017 is quite likely to become a still more fruitful year. This year’s mustard output is predicted to be at least as large as in 2016, i.e. no less than 7.5-7.7 KMT.
