Ukraine. Linseed and camelina export duty will not be cancelled

Verkhovna Rada committee did not approve lawbill to cancel export duty for linseed and camelina seeds, which could have come into effect on January, 1 2017.

Such decision was made after linseed and linseed oil foreign trade analysis. Analysis showed that it is unreasonable to cancel the duty, which provides development of domestic processing sector and further growth in exports of added value products.

Issue of camelina`s duty cancellation was raised prematurely as its sowing area is too small (in 2013 only 100 MT of seeds was harvested from 220 ha, in 2014 – 250 MT from 300 ha, in 2015 – 30 MT from 100 ha).

Further development of oilseeds/vegoils market in the 2016/17 season will be discussed at the IV International Conference Black Sea Oil Trade-2016”, September 7, 2016, Kyiv, Ukraine. Organizer - consulting agency UkrAgroConsult.
