Ukraine. Mariupol port may double grain handling after new terminal launch


Mariupol Marine Trade Port expects to double grain handling after the implementation of grain terminal construction project, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The first part of the project is aimed at handling of about 1 MMT, which is 150% more. Moreover, after construction of the first stage of the complex, it will be possible to receive cargo immediately from automobile transport and railway.

There is also a laboratory, drying, grain loading machine, which can load 20 KMT per day.

Now grain is supplied to the Middle East, Africa and Italy through the port. The most running lots - 10-20 KMT - do not require attraction of vessels such as Panamax and can be exported by low-tonnage fleet that does not have restrictions on passage under arch of the Kerch Bridge.
