Ukraine. More than 3.2 MMT of corn was threshed

GRAINS. As of September 20, 2018, corn in Ukraine was harvested from 13% of planned areas. Besides, Ukrainian farmers continue planting winter crops for grain. Due to a delay in the start of this year’s planting of winter crops, it is now 4% behind last year.

OILCROPS. According to the Ag Ministry of Ukraine, sunseed had been harvested from 2718 Th ha by September 20, i.e. from 45% of its projected area of 6058.2 Th ha. The crop amounted to 5781 KMT with an average yield of 2.13 MT/ha. By the same date a year ago, farmers harvested 3976 KMT of sunseed from 2155 Th ha with an average yield of 1.84 MT/ha.

Soybeans had been harvested from 437 Th ha by the reporting date (26% of their projected area of 1709.4 Th ha). Farmers combined 1056 KMT of soybeans with an average yield of 2.42 MT/ha. A year ago, 791 KMT was harvested from 454 Th ha with an average yield of 1.74 MT/ha.

Apart from the above, Ukrainian farmers continue sowing winter rape for the 2019 harvest. 909 Th ha had been sown to it by the reporting date. This is 102% of the projected 888 Th ha.
