Ukraine. Nibulon's Kozats'ka terminal receives first million tonnes of grain, oilseeds


Nibulon’s transshipment terminal in the Kherson region of Ukraine has officially handled one million tonnes of grain and oilseeds. The terminal began operation in 2012.

In its four years of operation the terminal has received, processed and shipped: 481,000 tonnes of wheat, 244,100 tonnes of barley, 139,700 tonnes of corn, 91,200 tonnes of rapeseed and 57,000 tonnes of soybean, sorghum and sunflower.

The transshipment terminal is located on the Kakhovka lock, which allows for year-round shipments. The use of inland waterways took 42,000 trucks off highway of the Mykolaiv and Kherson region of Ukraine.

The terminal’s silo capacity is 76,000 tonnes, dryer capacity comprises of 3,000 tonnes per day and shipment capacity is 10,000 tonnes per day.  Silo capacity for moist grain is 250 tonnes each.

The terminal currently employs 100 staff members and 452 of the 515 suppliers to the terminal are agricultural producers.
