Ukraine. Oilseed complex products are among most exported commodities


According to the State Statistics Service, agri-food exports from Ukraine in H1 2018 totaled $8.528 Bl (36.7% of overall commodity exports), while imports amounted to $2.436 Bl (9.4% of overall imports).

According to the Ag Ministry, Ukrainian agricultural exports reached a record almost $18 Bl in 2017, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As before, the top positions in Ukrainian agricultural exports in January-June 2018 were held by grains (a 36.8% export share), vegetable oils (26.2%), and oilseeds (7.5%).

At the same time, the greatest gains were seen in exports of the following commodity groups: deliveries of poultry eggs increased 2.1 times in the first half of the current year (up $27.7 Ml), apples, pears and quince – 5.3 times (up $6.7 Ml), pulse vegetables, hulled and unhulled – 58.3 times (up $11 Ml), butter and other milk fats – up 65,2% (up $29.2 Ml) and others.

The regional structure of Ukrainian agricultural exports did not change: the top destination market is Asia with an export share of 43.2%, trailed by European Union countries (30.4%) and Africa (14.6%).

In 2018, the top five importers of Ukrainian agri products are led by India, which purchased more than $1 Bl worth of agricultural and food commodities. It is followed by Egypt with $575.9 Ml, China with $526.6 Ml, the Netherlands with $525.3 Ml, and Spain with $470.3 Ml.
