Ukraine. Omelyan wants to expand list of ports subjected to concession

12.07.2017

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelyan, suggests to exclude some of the country's seaports from the list of objects subjected to privatization and include them into the list of objects subjected to concession, reports UkrAgroConsult.

"I ask you to transfer a number of our seaports, namely "Yuzhnyi", "Olvia", Kherson CSP, "Chernomorsk", Izmail - from privatization to concession facilities. We are working on this issue together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development", said Omelyan.

The Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman approved the Omelyan’s initiative and instructed to finalize the details.

SE "KCSP" and SE "Stevedoring Company "Olvia" are among the state enterprises where a pilot project of public-private partnership (concession) is being implemented. Relevant projects were approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure on June 23, 2016.
