Ukraine. Planting of early spring cereals and pulses is 31% complete

As of March 27, early spring grains were seeded on an area of 742 Th ha or 31% of the intended area (2402 Th ha). This includes 515 Th ha of barley (30% of the plan), 166 Th ha of peas (60%), 35 Th ha of oats (17%) and 26 Th ha of wheat (14%), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The planting pace still lags behind last year. Spring cereals and pulses were sown on 1058 Th ha as of March 28, 2016 that is 30% more than now. Please note that the lag in planting results primarily from its later start than in 2016 (March 1-10 against February 21-29 last year).
