Ukraine. Planting of early spring cereals lags 82% behind last year


Ukrainian farmers had sown 371 Th ha of spring cereals and pulses by April 10, i.e. 16% of their projected area and 82% less than at the same time last year (2094 Th ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Out of them, spring wheat plantings total 13 Th ha (7%) against 142 Th ha in 2017 and spring barley plantings are at 241 Th ha (15%) against 1426 Th ha in 2017.

11 Th ha (6%) was seeded to oats against 174 Th ha a year ago and 106 Th ha (26%) to peas against 352 Th ha by April 10, 2017.
