Ukraine. Rapeseed crops are well-developed and boast large above-ground biomass

05.12.2016

A slight drop in air temperature happened towards the end of November. Its daily average fluctuated from -2.6°C to +5.1°C, while minimum temperature was registered at -14°C below zero at cold nights (in Kharkiv region). Precipitation in the form of snow occurred almost all over the country in the last two days. Snow cover is uneven with its height varying within a range of 2 to 25 cm.

Winter rapeseed has developed 2 to 14 leaves per plant depending on the time of sowing, reports UkrAgroConsult. Where sown early and at the first half of the optimum period, rape crops are well-developed and boast large above-ground biomass.
