Ukraine. Rapeseed crushing minimized toward the end of the season

07.06.2017

Rape oil production by Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers fell to 0.4 KMT in April 2017. This is the lowest monthly volume in the last two seasons. Rape oil output was down 73% from April 2016, when it equaled 1.5 KMT. Rapeseed processing dropped as crusher stocks of this product fell more than two times against last year – UkrAgroConsult has mentioned this before.

Rape oil production by Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers totaled 66.3 KMT in 2016/17 (July-April), down almost 55% year-on-year (146.8 KMT in July-April 2015/16). As a reminder, the previous year saw a record in rape oil production, which amounted to 146.8 KMT in the same period.

In view of the present situation, it becomes obvious that rape oil production will be at a floor level in the last two months of MY 2016/17 due to feedstock shortages.

Further prospects of the Black Sea oilseeds/vegoils market will be discussed at the V International Conference “Black Sea Oil Trade”, which will take place on September 19, 2017 in Hilton hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
