Ukraine. Rapeseed exports will hit a new high


The start of a new 2018/19 season in Ukrainian rapeseed export market is characterized by active foreign trade, which is associated with the early start of harvesting and its high pace, reports UkrAgroConsult’s analysts.

As a result, the first two months of the season set a new record - 329.4 KMT and 585.2 KMT were supplied to foreign markets, respectively. In general, during the first two months of the new season, exports reached the record high of 914.6 KMT.

It is expected that this trend will continue. UkrAgroConsult believes that rapeseed export capacity will be record high in the 2018/19 MY.

The EU, which share increased to 86%, remained the largest buyer of Ukrainian rapeseed. Pakistan resumed rapeseed purchases from Ukraine in the previous 2017/18 season and remains one of the main buyers, accounting for 7% of all export shipments. The same market share belongs to the UAE.

To reminder, according to data of Ukrainian State Statistic service, as of September, 1 rapeseed was threshed from 1020.4 Th ha. Ukraine harvested 2746.8 KMT of rapeseed (+24.4% compared to 2017) with average yield – 2.69 MT/ha.

According to current information of the State Statistics Service, as of September 1, 2018, rapeseed stocks in Ukraine totaled 849.3 KMT that is down 4% from the same date last year (884 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.
