Ukraine set a corn export record


Ukraine exported 270.5 KMT of corn in August 2017, or twice as much as in the same month last year (136 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The nation set an all-time corn export record in the 2016/17 season, when 21.2 MMT was supplied to foreign markets. The previous maximum of 19.9 MMT was registered in MY 2013/14.

Export deliveries of Ukrainian corn grew for almost all of its key end markets. So, shipments to the EU market gained 7.6% against the previous season and reached almost 9.16 MMT. Exports to Iran hit an all-time high of some 2.16 MMT. Supplies to Egypt increased by 55.5% to 3.35 MMT, while those to Israel were up 43% year-on-year at 890 KMT and exports to Tunisia rose by 26.7% to 888 KMT.

Moreover, as a reminder, Ukrainian corn entered the markets of Vietnam and Bangladesh in MY 2016/17.
