Ukraine. SFGCU started forward purchases of 2018 harvest grains

State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine Company (SFGCU) has started a spring program of purchasing winter and spring grains to be harvested in 2018 harvest. Also, the forward campaign envisages financing growers to an amount of almost UAH 1.5 Bl., reports UkrAgroConsult.

The purchase program embraces crops such as wheat, barley, corn and oats. The documents needed for signing forward grain supply agreements are collected via the respective regional offices.

The 2018 spring forward campaign will be conducted in two stages. So, during the first stage the growers will have to apply to the SFGCU regional offices for participation in the program, make up a set of documents and sign procurement agreements in the company’s central office. Once the agreement is signed, a prepayment will be transferred to the grower’s account at an amount of UAH 3,000 per 1 MT of grain, but an interest rate of up to 11% per annum will be charged.

In particular, the second stage of the forward program envisages supplying grain by the growers to the Corporation’s branches in line with the agreement terms, as well as final settlement of accounts in the form of a second tranche.
