Ukraine. Soybean meal exports closed 2017/18 season at a record high


Ukraine exported 17.6 KMT of soybean meal in August 2017/18 against 19.6 KMT in the previous month and 11.7 KMT in August 2017. In total, a record over 353.1 KMT of soybean meal was shipped abroad in the 2017/18 season, or almost 22% more than a year ago.

As high soybean processing is expected in the new 2018/19 season, UkrAgroConsult predicts export availabilities of soybean meal to more than double.

No significant changes happened in the pattern of Ukrainian soybean meal exports in MY 2017/18. As before, they go mostly to the EU (32% of total exports), Belarus (27%), Georgia (13%) and Azerbaijan (11%). Remarkably, a rise was seen in shipments to all of the key destinations. In addition, in the 2017/18 season, Ukrainian soybean meal was supplied for the first time ever to Uganda, South Africa and Philippines.
