04.07.2017

According to the Agriculture Ministry, as of July 03, the southern and central regions of Ukraine have started harvesting of early cereals and pulses. The harvested area reached 101.2 Th ha in Odesa region, 111.3 Th ha – in Kherson region, 66.3 Th ha – in Mykolaiv, 20.3 Th ha in Dnipropetrovsk and 30.9 Th ha – in Zaporizhia.

In total, Ukrainian farmers gathered early cereals and pulses from 337 Th ha, obtained 1076 KMT at average yield 3.19 MT/ha, including 787 KMT of barley from 234 Th ha (3.36 MT/ha), 218 KMT of winter wheat from 74 Th ha (2.93 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The Agriculture Ministry estimates that unfavorable weather may cause some reduction of grain production compared to record high of last year, but its quality is likely to be high. This will promote wheat flour exports from the country.
