Ukraine. Starting yields of corn are lower than last year


By September, 7 grains and pulses had been harvested from 9885 Th ha (69% of the intended area) compared with 10419 Th ha by September 7, 2015. Farmers obtained 38.525 MMT with average yields at 3.9 MT/ha (by the same date in 2015 – 37.404 MMT with average productivity - 3.59 MT/ha).

Buckwheat was harvested from 85 Th ha (57%), 109 KMT obtained with average yield - 1.28 MT/ha (1.21 MT/ha last year). 133 KMT of millet were harvested from 73 Th ha (71% of the intended area) with average yield – 1.83 MT/ha. By September 7, 2015 nearly 177 KMT of millet had been gathered from 89 Th ha with average yield - 2 MT/ha.

By the reporting date 37 Th ha of corn had been threshed and 144 KMT obtained with average yield – 3.9 MT / ha. Pace of corn harvesting is higher than last year. By September 7, 2015 27 Th ha had been threshed and 117 KMT obtained with average yield – 4.39 MT/ha.
