Ukraine. Transnational corporation to build a grain terminal in port


Olam International Ltd. (Singapore) plans to invest funds in the construction of a grain terminal in one of Ukrainian ports, reports UkrAgroConsult.

"Ukraine attracts investors, such as Olam International, a transnational corporation". Once, Olam purchased the Bilotserkivsky elevator and will soon invest millions in the construction of a grain terminal in one of Ukrainian ports," - said First Vice-Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv.

As last year, grain handling industry of Ukraine still attracts investors, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Grain market participants are strongly interested in developing grain handling facilities in large ports and building their own logistic chains. From this viewpoint, Ukrainian grain handling segment is considered to be the most investment attractive and promising for investing.

Presently investors have announced 9 projects for construction of specialized grain-handling terminals in Ukrainian sea ports. If they implement these projects, before 2020 Ukrainian sea ports will be able to handle more than 70 MMT of grain for exports.
