Ukraine. Vinnytsia fat-and-oil plant boosting oilseed processing volumes

An upgraded soybean crushing line with a daily capacity of 220 MT of beans has been installed at ViOil Company’s Vinnytsia fat-and-oil plant. The production capacity of two Vinnytsia-based plants currently totals 1650 MT of soybeans a day, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The equipment set up at the oil-extraction plants allows processing three oilseeds: sunseed, rapeseed and soybeans. This diversification of production will help ViOil solve the issue of smooth loading of the facilities throughout the year and, according to the management, makes the plant unique.

ViOil’s management claim the company processed a record roughly 80 KMT of sunseed in December 2016. It managed to hit such a high owing to an upgrade of the Vinnytsia fat-and-oil plant. As a result, its capacity rose to 2900 MT of sunseed a day and the plant became the largest in Europe in terms of the processing volume on one site. Sunseed products are actively exported to more than 50 countries of the world, with Europe being the top consumer of soybean meal.

In addition, late in 2016 the company reported the production of a trial linseed oil parcel, as previously reported by UkrAgroConsult.
