Ukraine will double rapeseed exports this season
As expected, the current 2017/18 season witnesses brisk export trade in the Ukrainian rapeseed market and growth of domestic crushing against last season.
The rapeseed market surge was enabled by a crop jump to 2.2 MMT (up 85% year-on-year). As a reminder, the latter stemmed from an acreage expansion (up 34% year-on-year) and a yield increase (up 3% year-on-year) – according to UkrAgroConsult’s estimates.
This season, crushers face keener domestic competition from traders for rapeseed than a year ago. Taking into account the trend of the first four months of MY 2017/18, UkrAgroConsult raises its estimate for this season’s rapeseed export potential of Ukraine.
