Ukraine. Winter crops sowing pace is 28% slower than last year


By September, 26 winter crops had been sown at 2158 Th ha, which was 29% of the forecasted area - 7374 Th ha. This included 2024 Th ha of winter wheat and triticale (33% from the planned 6198 Th ha), 79 Th ha of rye (54% of 147 Th ha), 55 Th ha of barley (5% of 1028 Th ha). Sowing campaign lags behind the last year pace. By September 28, 2015 3004 Th ha had been sown with winter crops. Ukraine continues grain harvesting.
