Ukraine. Winter rapeseed harvest advancing northward


Ukrainian growers have started harvesting winter rapeseed not only in the southern and central regions, but also in the north. By July 10, 2017, they harvested 175.7 KMT of this oilseed from 85 Th ha (10% out of the officially planned 821.2 Th ha) with a yield of 2.07 MT/ha, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The harvest pace still lags behind last year, with lower yields (down 15%). So, at the same time in 2016, rapeseed was already harvested from 102 Th ha out of its total harvest area of 516 Th ha, with a crop of 249 KMT and a yield of 2.44 MT/ha.

For now, the highest yields of winter rapeseed are registered in Chernivtsi region (3.00 MT/ha), Donetsk region (2.90 MT/ha) and Poltava region (2.78 MT/ha).
