Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry raised 2016/17 grain export forecast by 1.3 MMT


The Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine raised its grain export forecast for the current season (July 2016 – June 2017) by 1.3 MMT (up 3.3%) due to increased corn export estimates.

So, the forecast for Ukrainian grain exports in MY 2016/17 was stepped up to 41.6 MMT from the previous 40.2 MMT. In particular, the corn export forecast was advanced from 17.2 MMT to 18.5 MMT.

Ukraine exported 21.22 MMT of grains in MY 2016/2017 by December 22, 2016, including some 10.88 MMT of wheat, 4.25 MMT of barley and about 5.99 MMT of corn.

As a reminder, Ukrainian 2015/2016 grain exports amounted to 39.5 MMT, or up 13.5% year-on-year.
