Ukrainian crushers maintain a record pace of soybean oil production

Soybean oil production by Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers amounted to 17.3 KMT in February 2018. This is down 9% from the previous month (19.1 KMT) but up 19% from February 2017 (14.5 KMT).

Overall, 98 KMT of soybean oil was produced earlier in the 2017/18 season (September-February) – its output increased 23% on the year and set a new record for this period, report UkrAgroConsult’s analysts.

UkrAgroConsult predicts that 2017/18 soybean oil production will total at least 174-175 KMT.

Despite of an increase in crushing, soybean exports from Ukraine hit a 10-year high in the first half of the 2017/18 season, reports UkrAgroConsult. Total Ukrainian soybean shipments to foreign markets were 5% more than last year and amounted to almost 2MMT. Import demand for Ukrainian soybean was seen from European countries (+3%), Turkey as well as from Iran.
