Ukrainian crushers managed to partially fill the gap in soybean oil production

Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers produced 14.2 KMT of soybean oil in May 2017 that is slightly up (+0.7%) from the previous month (14.1 KMT) and up 14.5% from May 2016 (12.4 KMT). In total, 123.6 KMT was made for the whole 2016/17 season (September-May) against 131.6 KMT a year ago. Please note that the production lag behind last marketing year shrank to 6% in May, whereas it was above 8% a month earlier and reached 25% early in the season.

Obviously, Ukrainian soybean oil producers will not manage to fully catch up with last season’s pace by the end of MY 2016/17, but keeping the lag within 6% is quite possible.
