Ukrainian exports grew to a five-year high

Ukraine exported 5.4 KMT of sunseed in June 2017. This is 5.3% less than in the previous month (5.7 KMT), but 68.8% more than in June 2016 (3.2 KMT). Its exports in September-June 2016/17 grew to a five-year high of 187.8 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In the current 2016/17 season, Ukrainian sunseed is already exported to 59 countries. However, European countries continue topping the ranking of importers: their export share reaches 68% (127.3 KMT). As expected, Turkey keeps increasing sunseed imports from Ukraine. So, this season’s purchases exceeded 43 KMT (23% of total exports) against 16.1 KMT a year ago. As a reminder, the current season still features resuming purchases of Ukrainian sunseed by previous importers, as well as the start of its exports to a number of new markets.
