Ukrainian farmers already sown 5.7 mln ha with winter crops

Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.7 million hectares with winter crops (79%), with a projected area of 7.2 million hectares, the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry reports.

In particular, the farmers have already sown 5.0 million hectares with winter wheat (82%), with a projected area of 6.2 million hectares; 109 thousand hectares (74%) with rye, with a projected area of 147 thousand hectares; 511 thousand hectares (59%) with winter barley, with a projected area of 872 thousand hectares; 993 thousand hectares (112%) with winter rapeseed, with a projected area of 888 thousand hectares.

As to the harvesting campaign, Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 45.3 million tonnes of grain crops from an area of 11.8 million hectares (79%) with a yield of 38.5 dt/ha. In particular, 34.3 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops have been harvested from an area of 9.9 million hectares with a yield of 34.8 dt/ha; 10.4 million tonnes of corn from an area of 1.7 million hectares (37%) with a yield of 62.2 dt/ha; 121 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from an area of 97 thousand hectares (90%) with a yield of 12.4 dt/ha; 72 thousand tonnes of millet from an area of 46 thousand hectares (89%) with a yield of 15.5 dt/ha.

In addition, 11.0 million tonnes of sunflower seeds were trashed from an area of 5.0 million hectares (83%) with a yield of 22.0 dt/ha; 2.7 million tonnes of soybeans from an area of 1.1 million hectares (63%) with a yield of 25.1 dt/ha; 2.7 million tonnes of rapeseed from an area of 1.0 million hectares with a yield of 26.1 dt/ha. Also, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 102 thousand hectares (37%) with a yield of 478 dt/ha.
