Ukrainian farmers started soybean planting
According to the Ag Ministry of Ukraine, sunflower was planted on an area of 489 Th ha as of April 10 that is 9% of the projected 5363 Th ha. Sunflower planted areas already totaled 611 Th ha at the same time last year. Sowing of this crop has begun all over Ukraine except for Luhansk and Lviv regions, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Ukrainian farmers started planting soybeans on April 7. As of April 10, this crop was already seeded on 10 Th ha, or 1% of its projected area of (1923 Th ha). To date, the largest seeded areas are in Kherson (4.8 Th ha), Zaporizhia (1.5 Th ha) and Vinnytsia regions (1 Th ha). This work lags 50% behind last year. So, sunflower plantings already totaled 20 Th ha by the same time in 2016.
In addition, fertilization of winter rape is drawing to an end. As of April 10, it was complete on 859 Th ha (99% of the projected area of 872 Th ha).
