Ukrainian grain prices on the rise again supported by strengthening of demand

At last, Ukrainian wheat market prices reversed their trend last week following a four-week decline. Export prices for milling wheat closed the week up USD 1/MT FOB for 12.5%, September-October delivery. Export prices for feed wheat gained USD 2/MT over the week for September-October delivery, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The bullish factors included this week’s growth of world wheat prices and some strengthening of demand for Ukrainian wheat, in particular from Egypt, Indonesia and India.

The revival of demand contributed to the restoration of domestic wheat prices, too. Domestic prices for milling wheat closed the week on average up UAH 30-50/MT. Also, domestic prices were pushed up by a weakening hryvnia in the currency market.
