Ukrainian Railways to start developing a short electrified way to the Black Sea ports in 2014

In 2014, Ukrainian Railways will begin works for the electrification of the Dolynska – Mykolaiv railway line, which is the shortest route to deliver goods to the ports of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

Ukrainian Railways is already completing design work for electrifying the 148 km-long line from Dolynska to Mykolaiv. This project’s implementation will promote the development of freight traffic, including transit shipments. In particular, the above-mentioned route is used for transporting goods from the Russian Federation to the Black Sea ports.
