Ukraine. Winners of the Pioneer Maximum 2018 yield contest identified

On February 20, 2019, Corteva Agriscience™, the agricultural division of DowDuPont, announced the results of the All-Ukrainian yield contest “Pioneer Maximum 2018”, where the leaders in two crops – corn and sunflower – were identified. As it has already become a tradition, the 2018 top performers in both nominations surpassed the records of previous years.

Some 200 farms located in six agro-climatic zones of Ukraine and under irrigation had applied for participation in the 2018 contest. 33 winners were identified among them.

In 2018, the highest yield of a Pioneer sunflower hybrid was obtained on the Hanna farm (Kharkiv region), where the P63LL06 hybrid yielded 5.30 MT/ha (oilseed yield with standard humidity) with humidity at harvest equaling 7.1%, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In 2018, the best result nationwide in the category “Best Pioneer corn hybrid yield” was shown by the P0216 hybrid at LLC Dnipro (Cherkasy region): 19.17 MT/ha (grain yield with standard humidity) with humidity at harvest equaling 18.7%.
