USDA: estimates for Black Sea oilseed production


In January’s USDA report, the 2017/18 Black Sea crop forecasts were reduced for soybeans and increased for sunseed and rapeseed.

The downward adjustments concerned the Ukrainian soybean crop: the respective figure was cut to 3,890 KMT (-110 KMT). According to the USDA estimates, the Black Sea countries harvested a total 7,475 KMT of soybeans.

The gain in the sunseed crop estimate concerned Moldova (650 KMT, i.e. up 100 KMT). The total sunseed crop in the Black Sea region was raised to 26,500 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

January’s figures for Black Sea rapeseed production show slight growth of the Ukrainian crop (2,207 KMT, i.e. up 7 KMT). Overall, the Black Sea rapeseed crop is estimated at 4,342 KMT.
