USDA: Forecast for the Black Sea oilseed crop raised by 3 MMT


In the August USDA report, the 2017/18 oilseed crop in the Black Sea region was slightly raised at the expense a heavier rapeseed crop in Ukraine (+10 KMT). The forecast total for all the oilseeds now equals 39622 KMT.


The August estimate for oilseeds production in the new 2018/19 season was increased by 2967 KMT against the previous report, to 43152 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.


Sunseed production is expected to grow in Ukraine (15000 KMT, up 1500 KMT), Russia (11000 KMT, up 500 KMT), Moldova (850 KMT, up 100 KMT), and Turkey (1740 KMT, up 160 KMT).


The rapeseed crop forecast for Ukraine was raised to 2600 KMT (+383 KMT), while those for Russia and Turkey were brought up to 1800 KMT (+300 KMT) and 88 KMT (+3 KMT), respectively.


The expected 2018/19 soybean crop was increased at the expense of higher production in Turkey (99 KMT, or up 4 KMT).
