USDA raised its forecast for Ukrainian corn exports to a record high

The USDA has published its March forecast for global crop production, demand, consumption and exports. The forecast for 2018/19 production of major grains in the Black Sea region was slightly adjusted by reducing the wheat and barley output estimates for Kazakhstan by 1.1 MMT and 0.2 MMT, respectively. At the same time, the forecast for wheat exports from Kazakhstan was left unchanged, while the barley export estimate was reduced by the same 0.2 MMT.

The grain production estimates for Russia, on the contrary, were revised upwards. The crop forecasts for wheat, corn and barley were raised by 0.1 MMT, 0.2 MMT and 0.1 MMT, respectively.

In addition, USDA experts once again increased their forecast for corn exports from Ukraine by 0.5 MMT, to a record 29 MMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Thus, the estimate for overall production of major grains in the Black Sea region decreased by 0.5%, to 186.5 MMT, while the estimate for their exports grew by 0.3%, to 104.3 MMT.
