USDA reduced its sunseed crop estimates for the Black Sea region

In the September report, the USDA increased its forecast for Black Sea rapeseed production in the 2017/18 season and reduced the respective figure for the sunseed crop, reports UkrAgroConsult.

So, the region is expected to harvest more rapeseed due to a 100 KMT crop increase in Russia (1250 KMT). The foreseen overall cut in sunseed output results from a 500 KMT decrease in the production estimate for Ukraine (14000 KMT). It was not offset by a 175 KMT gain in the sunseed crop forecast for Turkey (1600 KMT).

The 2016/17 oilseed crop estimates for the Black Sea region were left unchanged.
