USDA reduced sunseed and soybean crop forecasts for Russia


The newly released USDA December report cut the forecasts for 2017/18 sunseed and soybean production in the Black Sea countries, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The decrease in crop estimates concerned Russia. So, the forecast for sunseed was reduced to 10500 KMT (- 500 KMT). The USDA predicts the total sunseed crop in the Black Sea region at 26,400 KMT.

The Russian soybean crop is forecast to shrink to 3500 KMT (-200 KMT) and overall Black Sea production of this oilseed is expected at 7585 KMT.

December’s estimate for rapeseed production in the Black Sea region was left unchanged at 4225 KMT.
