Wheat bran exports from Russia up 7%


Russia continues to expand wheat bran shipments in season 2016/17.
The country exported 231.8 KMT of wheat bran during July-October 2016/17 MY, or 7% more than at the same time a year ago (216.4 KMT was exported in July-October 2015/16).

Turkey remains the key destination market for Russian wheat bran: the country absorbed 92% of all of its exports in the period under review. In 2016/17, Turkey has already stepped up Russian bran imports by 15%, to 213.2 KMT against 186 KMT at the same time last year.

In general, this season’s deliveries of Russian wheat bran continued to the traditional export outlets such as Vietnam, Korea, China and Mongolia.

As a reminder, Russia exported roughly 800 KMT of wheat bran in MY 2015/16.
