Wheat bran exports from Ukraine continue increasing

Ukrainian exporters continued stepping up wheat bran supplies to foreign markets this season. Ukraine exported roughly 181.7 KMT of bran during the first four months of MY 2017/18, or 6.6% more than at the same time a year ago (170.4 KMT was in July-October 2016/17), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Traditionally, the top importer of Ukrainian wheat bran remains Turkey, which absorbs the bulk of exports. In the period under review, Turkey purchased 7.7% more Ukrainian wheat bran than at the same time last season (176.1 KMT against 163.5 KMT).

Thus, the diversification of end markets was offset again by supplies to the Turkish market. Shipments to other destinations fell substantially or stopped at all. These include the markets of Israel, Morocco, China and the EU.
