Wheat exports from Bulgaria exceeded forecasts

According to the Ag Ministry of Bulgaria, the country exported 4.06 MMT of wheat in MY 2016/17 by June 9. This is 1.5% above the ministry’s forecast of 4 MMT and already 25% more than exported for the whole last season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

These values were achieved due to Bulgaria’s bumper wheat crop in 2016: 5.65 MMT.

It is also worth noting that 61.5% of the wheat exported in 2016/17 season went to EU countries. This percentage equaled 65% in MY 2015/16.
